Kudos to Toyota of Greensburg for supporting the Demi Brae Cuccia Awareness Organization: This morning we were fortunate to have a local business, Toyota of Greensburg, show their support for our TDV Awareness and Prevention Program by funding the assembly held at Greensburg Salem High School. As a result, 200 plus 9th grade students benefited from their financial generosity.

The purpose of our TDVAP program is to heighten awareness of and reduce teen dating violence in order to cultivate safe dating practices and a healthier and safer community. During the one-hour assembly, Dr. Gary Cuccia shares his daughter Demi’s story so that students learn the warning signs of dating violence/abuse, what can happen when dating behavior crosses the line from healthy to unhealthy, strategies to keep safe, and printed informational resources are distributed. Every student is given a demibrae.com wristband and a xoshove≠trulove (kiss hug shove does not equal true love) t-shirt. T-shirts are trademarked and created by Ladies Hospital Aid Society (LHAS).

By sharing Demi’s story, the DBCAO is committed to inspiring teens, parents, educators, and communities to build healthier relationships in the hopes that many young people and their families will not experience such tragedy.

We would like to offer our sincerest thanks and appreciation to Leyla L. Pilon-Sinclair, Toyota of Greensburg Rep., Principal David ZIlli, Cindy Marsaln and Carissa Luther for their contribution and assistance with today’s presentation.
